flashbacks.

two posts in one day?! who am i?!

i was just looking through some old pictures downloading some to print into hard copies when i came across a few gems that i just felt needed to be shared.

these two photos are from a fishing camp i taught while in alaska almost 4 years ago (yikes...), i have them both b&w and hanging in my bathroom. i'm not sure why there, except for the wall allowed for it.

the next is from a "photo shoot" that i did with jared to promote his website, the quality isn't the best buuuuut i think i'm pretty awesome and creative.

and this is some random garden in lexington, kentucky... i just loved it because this picture reminded me of the crown of thorns and the cross, but no body... there's your Easter tidbit to mull over.

south mountain

a few weeks ago (and i'm just getting to this... epic fail) our church participated in the american cancer society 5 mile hike to conquer cancer up south mountain. i'm so proud of myself that i did it AND didn't collapse in the process! i've included just a few scenery pictures, but if you are interested in the documentation of human struggle and whining then i suggest you check out my latest facebook album. i can't take credit for this first picture entirely, jenel forced me to stop and take it and i'm pretty glad i did! it's probably hard to see the seguaro cactus in the background but it was pretty awesome to see in person! it made that "1" mile hike down the backside of the mountain a little more bearable... or 3 mile hike, whichever.

in the next picture you can see the city of phoenix in the distance, the sky scrapers look so small from that height and distance.

the desert has so much beauty... i'll be sad to leave it for my next journey of graduate school this fall.

sin city

well it really wasn't that sinful, but it was so fun! if you have never been to vegas i totally recommend it! this is a shot of the eiffel tower at the "paris" hotel on the strip. the next photo is of the strip from the observation deck at the top, about 54 stories high. mental note: when you go to vegas in february, it is freezing... nevermind that it is the desert. take a jacket to the observation deck!

heartbreaker.

plain and simple.

hearts are breaking around the world.

this is just a casual photo during a trip to the park today for frisbee, but come on? ethan is like the happiest, most photogenic child in the entire world. I didn't have a hard time getting a good shot of him!

all i had to do was bribe him with a juicebox... i know, creeper, right?

blog fail...

it has been over a month since i last blogged! how awful am i at this?! i really don't have too many recent pictures that i've taken for "quality" sake, but i did have a great picture of my momma and her three little monkeys over Christmas...

the socks belonged to my great-grandpa cole... their great-great-grandpa! how cool? she only had 3 pair, so my kids are just outta luck.

galaxy throwers

so i was thinking about what my friend jared might want for Christmas and i figured.... letting the world know his love for frisbee.... that's what he would want more than anything.
jared and david convinced me to come out of my office in all of my busy-ness and take pictures for their facebook brainchild "galaxy throwers" or discers... or lovers... i'm not 100% on the name. so to at least make the experience worthwhile to myself i posed them in various places around our building. What i find to be really special they find to be... not as special. so to give my hard work a special place they can't get rid of it or untag it, here it is. in my blog. boo-yah, boys. I'm sure you'll all be just as moved by the images of man love and friendship as i was.... enjoy.

Can't you just see the light of love and friendship shining thru the frisbee?

Jared actually chose this pose himself.
Jared.... you're welcome. Merry Christmas, friend! and remember, you get what you get, and you don't throw a fit!
