fisheye view

so i'm a complete and utter self-proclaimed nerd.

there. i said it. cam and claud asked me to photograph their wedding next month and i have mostly just been drooling over lenses and accessories online for the past few weeks. i also started reading a book called "Digital Wedding Photography: Capturing Beautiful Memories"... sounds good right? i'm pretty much a pro now.

ok not really i keep just looking at the pictures over and over again. but anyway, when i ordered the book i also broke down and bought a wide view lense which sort of distorts things as if you were inside a fish bowl looking out. so after the spanish-country-western concierto tonight (that's right... i'm bi-lingual, too) i took it out for my first test run with a little help from allysa... little did she know our trip to the chicken park was turning into a photo shoot... tricky ms. lizzy...

i didn't get too many awesome shots, it was really more just to learn and practice but i did get a few that were pretty cute!

my little graduates

after being on the east coast for a week and a half, attending a retreat, picnic, baccalaureate, graduation, and a wedding you would think i would have photos galore to share... but sadly i took a total of 15. most of which are flowers from the baccalaureate reception for randy. why did i take them anyway? it's not like he'll be able to tell if they are pink or blue. ooooh the color blind jokes never end...

anyway my freshies are now college (ahem... university...) graduates and that just leaves me feeling super old. during the baccalaureate debbie, bree, and i got "reserved" seating... which was actually directly behind the 359 graduates so we didn't get to see much of anything! but i loved this picture of kaylyn and russel singing "give me jesus" in the background of all the graduation caps. so proud of all of you! love you loads unashamed class of 2010!

mclaughlin engagement

i'm totally ashamed... this is sooo late! we took these pictures almost a month ago! anyway, a big shout out to ms. judy who got us into the desert botanical gardens for FREE (ya, that's right, $45 value...)! it was so fun to get to hang out with my friends and cam was a trooper through taking a million and a half pictures just so i could practice.
sad times, since i edited their pictures on the first round my computer was reconfigured and rebooted and all my pictures are now gone so i had to redownload them all over again... so most of the pictures i put up have not been edited yet, but i still wanted to share!
congrats cam and claudia! i'm so honored to be part of your special day! love you!
